In addition to the management and monitoring of the project, it will oversee the project testing phase in the Emilia-Romagna region, the final guidelines and the white paper for reproduction. It will also be responsible for maintaining the project website, which is an important dissemination tool.
ARPAE (Agenzia Regionale Prevenzione, Ambiente ed Energia della Regione Emilia-Romagna Servizio Idro-Meteo-Clima) plays a key role in observing, forecasting, researching and developing projects in the meteorological and climatological field, addressing the knowledge issues underlying climate change adaptation and mitigation policies. It also carries out important research studies in the field of epidemiological and toxicological issues related to the health of the environment.
It will oversee the analysis of climate metrics affected by the project and the collection of adaptation actions to be adopted in the field to prevent and manage the risks posed by climate scenarios. It will disseminate the results of the project in scientific panels.
Cia-Agricoltori Italiani is one of the largest professional organisations in Europe that strives to improve and promote the primary sectorand protect the conditions of its workers, with approximately 900,000 members in Italy. The confederation is dedicated, among other things, to: the protection and development of the figure of farmers and their business, the safeguarding of farmers’ income, the rights of agricultural work carried out as a business, the reinforcement of the primary sector in the Italian economic system, the competitiveness of agricultural businesses in markets, the promotion of a culture in society that upholds land as a common good, that is limited and not reproducible. Cia-Agricoltori Italiani focuses on sustainable agriculture with a focus on quality, safety, food education, environmental protection and promotion, agritourism (farm holidays), forests, organic farming and alternative energies; its areas of work also include publishing and information on agricultural legislation.
It will be responsible for transferring knowledge on climate change risks and interventions to farmers and producers’ organisations in the 3 selected agricultural supply chains in the pilot region (Emilia-Romagna). Given its network of members and its various communication channels (local offices, websites, assemblies), it will be responsible for disseminating the project’s results and tools.
CREA-PB (Council for Research and Analysis of Agricultural Economics Research Centre for Policy and Bioeconomics) analyses economic and social phenomena of the national and international agri-food system, with a focus on environmental and local development issues. Thanks to intensive institutional support and technical and scientific backing, the centre is well respected by the scientific community and national and international institutions.
CREA-PB will be responsible for analysing and assessing the costs and benefits of adaptation measures for farmers and will identify all instruments (including incentives) to support farmers in their adaptation process. They will also provide support for the economic and scientific aspects of the project and the dissemination of the results obtained.
Circolo Festambiente is a national branch of Legambiente, one of the most widespread environmental organisations in Italy. It has a proven track record and acts at local and national level on issues such as sustainable development, green economy, climate change mitigation and adaptation. . The association is active in the field of agro-ecology through continuous discussion and dialogue with producers and producers’ organisations.
It will be in charge of evaluating the impact of the project by conducting field researchon pilot farmers and of disseminating the project results throughout Italy. Furthermore, through many of its climate adaptation initiatives (such as the national “Festambiente” event in August each year), it will transfer knowledge of the project to all its members, supporters and stakeholders.
Legacoop Agroalimentare Nord Italia brings together and represents over 340 agri-food cooperatives in Liguria, Piedmont, Lombardy, Veneto, Friuli-Venezia Giulia and Emilia-Romagna which operate in all sectors and all production stages of the agri-food sector.
It will focus on developing the Life ADA community to reproduce the project in the regions of Lazio, Tuscany and Veneto involving other farmers and producers’ organisations from the selected agricultural supply chains. It will also provide valuable support, thanks to its contacts and wide range of channels at national, local and sector level (newsletters, magazines, websites), in order to implement the project’s communication and dissemination actions.
Leithà is the Unipol Group company set up as a centre of competence in Data Science and Computer Science and provides agile development solutions applications and components for data-intensive applications, with the aim of: protecting, promoting and enriching the Unipol Group’s information assets; developing tools and algorithms to optimise business processes; developing software components employing machine learning methodologies; providing valuable methodologies and applications for optimising commercial offers.
Its experience will be fully exploited in order to develop the ADA tool, which will bring together climate variability, actions to prevent and manage the risks of climate change in agriculture and the cost/benefit analysis of the actions that make up the adaptation plan.
The General Directorate for Agriculture, Hunting and Fisheries of the Emilia-Romagna Region supervises: the protection of local communities and the rural environment; the development of agricultural businesses and the agro-industrial sector; the promotion of products, including through quality certifications. It also promotes research and experimentation in the agriculture sector. It sets out sustainable development policies and manages the implementation of the rural development funds in Emilia-Romagna.
Its role will be to develop, based on the input it will receive from the project, a regional strategy for adapting and mitigating risks to the farming sector by defining guidelines and intervention tools for the selected sectors.
