Crop rotation

Description

Crop rotation entails the planting of different crops in the same field in subsequent growing seasons. This diversification over time allows soil pests and pathogens to be managed more efficiently, limiting dependence on pesticides, and encouraging an increase in organic matter in the soil, increasing fertility and reducing dependence on external inputs; it also means that farmers can diversify their sources of income, considering all the rotation crops.
